Restaurants should serve dessert first and let everyone decide whether dinner is still necessary. Starting with the best course would make a meal feel like a celebration from the first bite, and nobody would have to pretend to save room. The obvious downside is that some people would order cake twice, which sounds more like a scheduling problem than a moral failing.
